Do you write poems?

Hi everyone!

After receiving great feedback on facebook about poems, I thought it would be a great idea to get everyone to send in their poems so we could compile a book for our fundraising effort.

Please send in your work, don't be shy... you don't have to be a literary genius we like funny too! We need a wide range of poems so experiment as much as you like. The only rule: It must be related to gastroparesis in some way, but that could be anything that has changed for you since diagnosis.

Please post your poems in the comments box or you can contact us on Facebook using the links on the right x

Happy writing!

Much love

Make Lemonade when life hands you lemons ...

Make lemonade when life hands you lemons...

I rack my brains for something to write

Something that is funny and witty and light

And then i thought stop trying so hard

Write how you feel, stop being so mard

My stomach is broke, my bowel is sick

Even my oesophagus ain’t in top nick

But my brains all there well as much as it was

I’ve never been the brightest in the box.

The hospital trips , the needles , the bed

I want to be at home with the dog instead

I want to go out and rave till dawn

My body won’t let me it gets withdrawn.

I never imagined I could become so ill

So I’d have to stop moving need to lay still

But all this has taught me some great life lessons

Make lemonade when life hands you lemons.

I have to say thank you to you,

If you’re reading this you’ve helped get me through.

The nausea, the hunger, the unrelenting pain

The terrifying fear that everyday’s the same.

I know in my heart that there is no cure

But i have hope it’s what I’m fighting for.

let me give you the name of the awful disease

Gastroparesis is what brings me to my knees

Thanks for reading your much to kind,

But please tell others if it plays on your mind.
